Tournament Structure for the African Cup of Nations
A total of 24 teams compete in the African Cup of Nations, which usually takes place every 2 years. The hosts – Ivory Coast, in this instance – qualify automatically, while the other 23 teams earn their place in the tournament through a qualifying stage featuring 54 countries.

Teams start off in the round of 16, with the winners progressing to the quarter-finals, followed by the semi-finals. The losers of the semi-finals compete in a third-place play-off against each other, while the winners face-off in the final to decide the winner of the competition.
The final will take place in Alassane Ouattara Stadium, i🌳n Abidjan, the economic capital of Ivory Coast.
